Jalepeno Popper Inspired Salmon Burgers

Spicy jalepeno poppers filled with crispy bacon and cream cheese. Bursting with flavour, they are a perfect appetizer and also the inspiration for these amazing fresh salmon burgers.

My salmon burger recipe is quick and easy! Ready in 20 minutes or less, they are perfect for when you need something simple to prepare. And they are so flavourful! Like seriously tasty, and pretty healthy too. You could omit the bacon if you really wanted to make them healthy. But then you wouldn’t have salty, crispy crumbled bacon in your burgers. Worth it.

This jalepeno popper salmon burger recipe makes 4 burgers. Since we’re only two people, I covered the two leftover patties with plastic wrap and put them in the fridge. They were just as delicious cooking them the next day for lunch!

Jalepeno Popper Inspired Salmon Burgers


Servings: 4 burgers
Ingredients
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 lb salmon skin removed
  • 1 jalepeno finely chopped and seeds removed
  • 1/3 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sriracha (or more to taste)
  • 1 avocado sliced
  • cream cheese for serving
Instructions
  1. Heat pan over medium high heat and fry bacon until crispy. Set aside to cool.

    Drain some of the bacon fat from the pan, leaving enough to cook the burgers in later.

  2. Add salmon to a food processor and pulse a few times until finely chopped.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, add salmon, chopped jalepeno, panko bread crumbs, garlic, parmesan and spices. Crumble bacon and add to bowl along with olive oil and sriracha. Mix together until just combined.

  4. Reheat pan over medium high heat.

    Form meat mixture into 4 burger patties and place into pan. Cook 3-4 minutes per side, flipping once.

  5. Serve on a bun with cream cheese and sliced avocado. Enjoy!
